You have to have one, so what is it? Are you the classic type? Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby
The new renditions? Amy Grant, Jessica Simpson
The quirky ones? I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas, Dominick the Donkey, Snoopy vs. The Red Baron
Religious ones? Hark the Herald Angels Sing, Silent Night
My choices are 1, 3, 4...I do not like Amy Grant, she ruins every song she redoes with her sleepy voice and even tempo. As for other remakes, there's something about the classic version you grew up with that makes it the best.
What about you? What are your favorites?

I love the classics. Perry Como, Nat King Crosby and Dean Martin. But it's really not Christmas til I've heard the first few strains of Nat singing "Chestnuts roasting on an open fire...."
For newer songs, as an 80s girl I love to hear George Michael sing Last Christmas--he melts my heart every time.
I love Snoopy vs. the Red Baron! But I think my favorite isn't one of the traditional songs, which are all very nice. The country band Alabama wrote one called Mistletoe the Christmas Bear. That is a lovely, adorable song.
I love the classics too. Carol of the Bells, White Christmas, Silver Bells, O Tannenbaum, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. I like some of the remakes but; not very many.

I love the old Christmas songs. I started playing my Christmas cds last week. I have about 4 different cds in my car and a few more in the house. They're so energizing. :-) They range from classical, to contemporary, traditional and country music. Too bad Christmas doesn't last all year. ;-) Enjoyed your post this evening!

Isabel, I love Mel Torme, Perry Como, and about any of those you named except Amy Grant. Never cared for her. My favorite is "Santa Baby" by Eartha Kitt.
