October the busiest month

I used to be certain December was, or the 6 weeks between Thanksgiving and New Years but now I'm convinced it's October. Or maybe just this one. Who knows, maybe it'll be October 1-January 1 for all I know (I sincerely hope not!)

2 conference, Disney, birthdays, holidays, AND writing? I'll never survive. Something's got to give and last night it was me.

Migraine, sinus pressure, you name it I had it. I even missed NCIS because of it all.

I'm such a big planner that I thought I had it all down. HA! Apparently I planned a little too much and I think it's catching up with me. I need to slow down, though who knows what'll give. I don't want to give up anything, but maybe I should cut back. On what, I don't know, everything seems to be a priority in my life.

My advice to you: take time for yourself, even if you're sitting on the couch dozing while watching Guys & Dolls...which I'm doing now before work.

TGIF!

This has been a long long week. In addition to the puppy, I think I had a bad reaction to my flu shot this year. Not that I've ever had a bad reaction before, and have been getting them for years, but there you have it. I hear they added in the H1N1 vaccine to the regular mix. Not sure that was it, but it's what I'm going with since it was the only outside variable.

Things checked off my ToDo list: Finished synopsis AND the partial. Reading it through one last time Saturday and then emailing it off. Very excited about that, no matter what happens. And within the next several weeks, I plan on finishing the story and working on a couple other shorts and unfinished stuff.

October is jammed packed with conferences. I say jammed, does 2 count? ALBACON in the beginning of October, then New Jersey Romance Writers at the end. I'm really excited about ALBACON, it's the first conference where I'm on a workshop panel. We'll be discussing history, research, and writing with someone else. I think it'll be fantastic!

Motivation

I have none. I'm 1/3 of the way through Arabelle and Gareth's story and am so tired. Had that nasty stomach bug last week and it got me but good. I'm eating again, but all I want to do is sleep, sleep, sleep. Did Tuesday, ah that was lovely. The worst part is knowing I should be writing and really just wanting to curl up on the couch.

Anyone know a good way to get my energy back? I'll take anything at this point.

Sick & Dying

It got me. The stomach bug that's going around? Hunted me down and attacked. I can barely sit up and desperately wish I stocked up on Gatorade when I had the chance.


Maybe tomorrow will be a brighter day but today sure isn't.

Monday Morning Blah

I seem to have caught a cold. It's near 80 outside in October! and I'm sick - life is so unfair. In the midst of my pouting-about-my-cold and feverish delusions, I realized a plot problem. Well, several, which is why I haven't written a darn thing in over a week. In 2 different stories, I have 2 separate problems. Neither of which I like or need, and only 1 of which is workable.

In the Austrian story it's a simple matter to comply with their antiquated (even for the 1870s) inheritance laws. I don't want to, and feel like flailing my arms in vain protest. But I will, because even though the story's got a touch of paranormal, some things you can't change. (Unless you go totally AU, and that's more work than the story requires or I need!)

In Cold Winter's Night, the problem is larger, harder to manage, and requires more research than my stuffy head feels up to. Anyone know anything about cold cases - specifically the cops who investigate them?
