It was bad enough she’d agreed to Margaret’s scheme. When her stepmother began telling her all the ways for a man and woman to be together, she thought. . . well she hadn’t been sure what to think.

April showers

Apparently brings freezing temperatures the next day. I'm glad I was lazy and hadn't brought out any spring clothes yet! Sweaters all the way!

Today is another long day for me. One day I'd like to sleep in, be lazy, NOT do anything but watch a NCIS marathon or a House or Stargate SG-1 one...or my Sharpe movies again. I long for that day. :)

That day is not today. Today I'll be fiddling with my website. Bought Dreamweaver which came with NO instructions, so went to my library and badgered the NF buyer into buying a Dreamweaver book. I reasoned I wasn't the only one in need. She bought it but then she's nice like that. Between that and Denise's help (she has the same book and actually made notes. I'm so impressed!) I managed to figure out cascading windows and text wrapping. Still a little iffy on the color thing, thought I had it, now I'm not so sure.

Finish last Wicked Seduction story. Cherrie on Top is a contemporary romance that takes place in a popular San Fransisco bakery. I'm about 1/4 through that and hope to finish it up tonight.

After I paint my bathroom. It needed a second coat. *sigh* Which meant I needed more paint. And now that I moved everything INTO the bathroom to have room in the hall, I need to move it back OUT to paint. Again. The whole thing should be finished by this weekend and it'll be nice to have

Short Story Marathon

I've said here before how I (currently) love writing short stories. There's that race against word count to get everything into it, the plot, the development, the sex, the resolution. I'm in the midst of detailing each chapter of Dark Desire of the Druids III: Desert & Destiny and need a break. I love the story but the minutia before I even begin writing is driving me bonkers.

I think this weekend I'll take to finish my Wicked Seduction series. I have 1/4 of Starlet finished, just need to layer it with atmosphere, and hope to have it all finished by tonight. I'll edit it next week, after I let it simmer a bit.


So this weekend I'll do Passion for Fashion (1950s) and Cherrie on Top (present) then move onto the next in my Four Birds series.

Wicked Seductions

As I posted yesterday, Complicated Courtship is the first in my Wicked Seduction series now available from Ravenous. In this series of (so far) 6 stories set in various time lines strong women are the focus of the story. This doesn't mean the men are wimps, far from it, but the plot revolves around the women. They want what they want and will do anything in their power to get it...in this case, him.

In Complicated Courtship, Kirsten St. Clair, a Bostonian during the early stages of the Revolutionary War, wants her fiancée, James, back. He's ignored her these past months and she doesn't know why. What's a woman in love to do? Seduce him of course. It's not as easy as it sounds and she's never done anything remotely like that. With the help of her stepmother, and James' need for her, she sets out to get what she wants.

Deadlines approaching

December 1 is the deadline for the first in my Wicked Seduction short story series. Complicated Courtship, about a woman in 1774 Boston who wants to remind her Sons of Liberty fiance all they can share, is finished. I just edited it again, and will go through it once more before sending it out to Ravenous next week.

My only problem is street names in Boston while Massachusetts was still a colony. After we won the Revolution, they changed all the names. All of them. So now I'm stuck with no street names. A friend, Dee, actually mailed me a couple books on old Boston, but even they conflict with the street names. It's enough to make a writer want to scream.

Now you wouldn't think a street name was that important in a 5800 word story. It is. Makes it authentic and all. Plus it sounds better than Kirsten walked down one street to the next, and never bothered to remember what their names were. Right. Admit it, you wouldn't buy that, either.
